Teen Zone at RPL

Take a left when you enter the Adult Department, and you’ll find our Teen section! Equipped with a microwave and a Refueling Station with snacks and drinks, the space is all RESERVED for our teen patrons! Staff also keep an eye on resources that will be particularly useful for local teens; check them out!

Programs for Ages 10-17

(Unless otherwise indicated)

Literacy Day Kits – available Sept. 8th. Each pack includes a notebook, pens, pencils and writing activities. *Limited # of kits. No registration required

Game Day SaturdaysSept. 17th and 24th, Oct. 15th and 29th, Nov. 19th and 26th – In-Library, 1 – 3 PM. A combination of table top and video games will be available in the downstairs program room!

TEEN D&DAGES 14-18Tuesdays – Weekly, beginning Sept. 20th. In-Library, 4-8 PM. Start a Dungeons & Dragons campaign this fall. Beginners and advanced players are welcome! *Registration required.

Bad Art Night Thurs., Oct. 20th @ 6 pm – An in-person program with paints, canvas and craft supplies to make the worst art possible! No stress, only fun exploring and getting creative. *Registration required.

Career Workshops in Film and TV presented by Reel Canada – AGES 16-30Thursday, November 10th @ 6 PM. New studios are opening across Canada, and production volume is rising! Learn about career paths in Canadian film with an industry professional speaking about their own experiences. *Registration Required by November 3rd

Let’s Talk Science: Mini Science Series! (Ages 8-12) 11:00 am – 12:30 pm. Hands-on science discovery through experiments with Ottawa University science students! Happening Saturdays Sept. 24th, Oct. 15th, Nov. 19th and Dec. 17th! *Registration required

Wacky Wednesdays! (Ages 6-12) 3:30 – 5:00 pm. Drop in and join us every week to discover a wild and wacky after school hands-on activity! Be prepared for sticky duct tape masterpieces, Hot wheels, tech toys, Lego challenges and more! Begins Wed., Oct. 5th.
