Culture Connect: Movie Night

We will be screening the documentary “A Brief Record of My Father’s Time at Sea” directed by Jeanette Kong at the Renfrew Public Library on Thursday June 15th 6 – 8 PM. Please register online or give the library a call to 613-432-8151 ext. 603. Admission is FREE! The library has partnered with Local Immigration Partnership Lanark & Renfrew to host the Culture Connect Movie Night.

Movie Synopsis:

Canadian filmmaker Jeanette Kong weaves together the strands of her Chinese-Jamaican identity as she recounts her father’s immigration journey-from China to Jamaica-and then eventually to Toronto, Canada.

Membership to the Renfrew Public Library is free to all residents and taxpayers in the Town of Renfrew and Horton. Non-residents may choose to pay $55.00 for an individual 12-month membership or $28.00 for a 6-month indivudal membership. Family memberships may also be purchased for $70.00 for 12-months or $36.00 for 6 months. Residents of McNab/Braeside and Admaston/Bromley : Your municipalities may reimburse all or part of your membership cost. Please contact your municipality for information.
